Australian Rural Doctor is a magazine aimed at the quarter of Australias GPs who work
in rural medicine. Launched in November 2003, the magazine fills an important role by providing
a voice for rural doctors, a place to explore their diverse lives and working circumstances, and
to acknowledge the specialty of rural medicine. The magazine features regular columns by working
rural GPs and covers major issues affecting rural communities through in-depth features.
Australian Rural Doctor captures the rich tapestry and the great tradition of story telling
in the bush, with lighthearted and humorous articles intended as a respite from the many stresses
of rural medicine. It also features:
- Top quality photography, design and illustrations
- High quality stories by leading writers
- Many articles written about or by rural GPs
- A high-quality and practical clinical liftout
