This is one of the longest standing of the many medical calculator apps aimed at giving doctors easy access to a litany of medical formulae.
MedCalc, developed by two doctors, has more than 200 formulae, scores, scales and classifications ranging from a BMI calculator to dermatome map, Epworth Sleepiness Scale and GFR formulae. It supports both US and the SI (Systeme internationale) units.
Users can search for equations by name or keywords and can customise a list of favourite equations.
The WA AMA Medicus magazine last year recommended the app as easy to navigate and useful for consults and home visits.
