<title>Why I don&amp;#8217;t like travel medicine</title>
<link>http://www.australiandoctor.com.au/articles/E2/0C06C2E2.asp</link>
<description>GENERAL practice is an eclectic art. It&amp;#8217;s sick babies and sore wrists and sad teenagers. It&amp;#8217;s workers comp and pregnant ladies and frail old folk in nursing homes. It&amp;#8217;s a thousand other things. As practitioners, we can&amp;#8217;t be good at everything. Most of us become skilled in some areas, competent if not brilliant in others, and avoid a few like the plague. #OTHERPARAGRAPH# Travel medicine is my plague. I don&amp;#8217;t like it. I don&amp;#8217;t like it because I don&amp;#8217;t really get it. I don&amp;#8217;t like it because patients ask what must seem to them to be a perfectly simple question (&amp;#8220;What shots do I need?&amp;#8221;) to which I have no simple answer.</description>
