After more than three decades as a solo GP in the northern NSW town of Bonalbo, Dr Trevor Tierney is looking forward to retirement and pursuing his love of art. The hunt is on to replace him, writes Janet Grist.
The community of the northern NSW country town of Bonalbo and surrounding townships has rallied to set up a committee to replace retiring GP Trevor Tierney.
For more than 30 years, Dr Tierney has served his community with the utmost dedication and compassion. He was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2009 in recognition of his excellent work.
Dr Tierney, 65, will close his surgery doors for the last time on 31 December.
