  Search Tips

To get more specific results, try using the following tips:

Check spelling:
Make sure your search terms are spelt correctly.

Use multiple words:
Using multiple words for a search will return more refined results than a search from a single word. For example, entering peptic ulcer will return more relevant results than just entering ulcer.

Searching a phrase:
By default the search will return results that contain all of the words in the phrase you enter in the search field. To limit the search to only the exact phrase use quotes, for example "peptic ulcer". This will only return results that have these two words exactly as they appear within the quote marks.

Extend your search:
If you do not find what you want on the Australian Doctor site you can easily extend your search to Cochrane, PubMed, NICS or Merck. Use the 'Extend your search' option at the end of every 'Search results' page. Simply check the resource you want to access and click Go.
