Why should GPs boycott drug reps?

A high-profile campaign that urges GPs to stop seeing drug reps has been met with a mixed response by the profession.

The RACGP is not endorsing the No Advertising Please campaign, even though it is being launched at its GP14 event in Adelaide on Saturday.

The AMA  has come out against the campaign, even going so far as to brand it "a bit silly". And some grassroots GPs have told Australian Doctor that there's no need for a blanket ban as doctors are able to work out what information is slanted in the drug company's favour.

Australian Doctor talks to Dr Justin Coleman about why GPs should sign the No Advertising Please petition and stop seeing drug reps for a year.
